Senior Minister: Reverend Robin Haruna

After not setting foot in any church for over twenty years, Reverend Robin Haruna found Unity and immediately felt like she had come home. She was ordained a Unity minister in 1994 and has served at Unity of Bandon since that time. Following a serious health challenge, she “retired” for a brief time but has since regained health and wholeness in order to step in as Senior Minister on a part-time basis. Reverend Robin has a deep devotion to Unity principles and their power to transform lives. Working for social justice and equity is dear to her heart.

Reverend Robin has served Unity Worldwide’s EarthCare team and as a mentor for the Field Licensing Program. She is coauthor of Wake Up, Live Your Best Life in Spirit and author of The Ten Commitments. Over the years, she has served on the boards of many non-profit service organizations in Coos County and currently serves as Vice-President of the Bandon Ministerial Association. She has a passion for serving and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

Reverend Robin lives in Bandon with her husband Takashi and two highly entertaining dachshunds. In her spare time she is a hooker (of tapestries and rugs), bookmaker, mixed media artist, passionate gardener, creative vegan cook, and avid reader.

Monthly Speaker: Reverend John Lloyd

Reverend John Lloyd travels from Eugene monthly to share his message. Rev. John’s journey to self-discovery began in the Lutheran Church of Missouri. Following a series of life-altering events – relocation, divorce, death of a parent – he found his spiritual home in 1987 at the Unity Church in Eugene. Following nearly 40 years of looking “out there” for the answers he desired, Rev. John discovered that the real journey was in the 18 inches from his head to his heart. After being ordained by Unity Worldwide Ministries in 2000, Rev. John realized that his gift to others was in letting God live through him – as he often reminds us, “Be yourself, everyone else is taken.” Although he lives in Eugene with wife, Pam, and their dog, Wilbur, Rev. John says his heart sings whenever they are in Bandon.
